Horrible tooth ache
Monster inside my molars
The king of teeth rises
To his wet throne of tongue

All girls secretly like to be tickled.

Still kickin'.
Got back from NYC Comicon, I had a blast! I got to see and meet alot of cool people, I even had the luck of running into people I havent seen in years! My good friends Fabiola and Sam from Puerto Rico were attending the event, sadly only for one day.
First day at the con Mclean Kendree, Erik Jones and I went to the James Jean show, it was awe-inspiring, we were all flabbergasted and a little bit frustrated at how good his work, in the flesh and paint, really is. I felt very lucky to see it.

Ill post more work soon, finished moving into a new place in St Pete...AGAIN...this house hopping is starting to get old...

I added my Cheech and Chong painting along with the last few skateboards on my Etsy shop
Etsy is a great site, I know plenty of awesome artists whove joined this community!
Check my shop out, Im also selling prints!

Here are some random sketchbook pages. Over the past 5 months Ive been working on and off three different books, a moleskin, a squared one and a travel sized journal, just to experiment and not feel so constricted as to whether or not this page was good or not. I ended up with alot of bad drawings, but they were very tellling forays of experimentation, expressiveness and fun, which we sometimes forget its all about. Maybe someday Ill post those, but for now, here are my favorite gems out of the few lately.

More soon ;-)

The economy sucks!
I had to move from my previous place because the house got foreclosed. We were renting but it was a horrible feeling being displaced and forced out of your living situation due to the will of a seemingly powerful few. My heart goes out to the millions of floridians who've been through this. Been working on some secret personal projects, as well as some stuff to take to NYC Comicon.

In the meanwhile, here are a couple recent pieces of artwork that Ive finished since the move...and I promised my self not to make more monkey decks....hahaha...maybe next year I wont.

Here are some character illustrations of a project im (eventually) going to put up on a blog. a weekly strip about two sasquatches living in today's society which has cast them out with indifference. Im hoping to put these two into some pretty fun situations.

11/10/08

Im working on some freelance and commission work, as well as other personal projects. I havent painted on the tablet for awhile and I made these monkey faces to test out some coloring methods, Im planning on releasing a new blog whihc ill update weekly, with a special new project.

In the mean time here are some more monkeys, I thought I would be done drawing them but they manage to take over my hand again.

this guy kinda looks like murdoc from gorillaz,

Here's an image inspired by the movie King Corn a film about two friends who after graduating college, plant an acre of corn. What they find out once they farm their corn (and all the way to its processing for its different uses) is a startling revelation of how America has grown with this one product and the questions of how America eats as its effect.

There is ALWAYS a bit of corn in all of us.

Great words scrawled (not by me) on my floor.
Ive been shurning out those creative juices, with music as well as art; for awhile drawing and painting was taking a backseat. Recently I was invited to be part of a skate show in St Pete in which all the artists worked on skate decks. I loved working on this format.

My new workplace I recently assembled in the garage, works great! Setting up for silkscreening some shirts. Never done it but I collected notes off of various friends on the subject, so I might have shirts soon. I am also going to be working with the great people at Creative Arts INC on a mural piece at All Childrens Hospital. Im stoked I get to do something like that.

Here are the decks I painted

"El Muerto" oil

"Los Panas" mixed media

"El Anarquista" Oil

The show will be tonite at the skate shop across the street from Sbux, sandwiched between a hungry howies and a tat shop on Central & 66th St. in St Pete. 7pm-?

Im done with monkeys for now...I cant bear to draw another one. TVs are my next serial obssesion....

Some Random Sketchbook pages

Wheew...

I hate moving. I moved out of Sarasota to St Pete for now, I got a couple jobs in that area. One is a freelance gig with Creative Arts Inc. While I teach art to kids in far off places in Florida. So far its been good. I moved into a house in Gulfport where I hope to make it into a music/art house while I stay there, so musicians and artists are welcomed.

Creative Arts will have me working on some 2D images for library installations (bookshelve sides, etc) which will focus on florida wildlife. I sent them sketches of different animals, here is an Osprey sketch that got me the commission.

While I was moving I got another job with Damname Films to make the poster for their new musical Glee! I had alot of fun doing this piece and the people at Damname have done a wonderful job!

Heres the poster i did for them,

More to come soon, sorry for the lack of updates.

Something amazing just happened......

With the release of their new album, one of my favorite bands, Radiohead has started releasing videos of their songs, plus new songs through youtube.

Radiohead has always tried to take a different approach to how their music gets throughout the media, by actually using it as a tool instead of seeing it as a hindrance to their success (like most musicians of their popularity would...).

This just goes to show one of the infinite possibilities the internet can provide to teh artist looking to get exposure.

A sea of information and media, bountiful gardens ripe for the taking.

Ive decided to start using this blog more. Which means sometimes I will post artwork, sometimes I wont but each post will keep an update on what been happening lately to Glue.

Ive started to play guitar again! I have not played music in a long ass time, and it feels great to explore a different art form once again. One that I have, for some reason or other, haven't really touched since early teens.

Also, recent event have transpired which have allowed me to start designing logos for various local bands. First one has been a group that Ive been jamming out with for the past month now.

You can find the rehearsal recordings on their myspace
